Quality of young calves
Veal originated as part of the commercial utilisation of by-products from dairy farming. After all, cows do not produce milk unless they give birth to a calf each year. We purchase our calves from dairy farmers once they are at least 14 days old.
The first weeks of the calves' lives are crucial to their later growth performance and health, which is why we exclusively buy sprightly calves from the dairy farming industry. This means that the calves are healthy, have received sufficient beestings at the dairy farm and weigh at least 36 kilos.
